Give Your Liver Some Extra Love
The liver plays an crucial role in healing Hashimoto’s and if it becomes overburdened or stagnant you may feel angry or anxious.
Anger is the emotion held in the liver and gall bladder, so if you’ve been feeling angry or have some unresolved anger toward something in your life - it’s time to let it go.
Talk to someone, scream into the void, dance it out - whatever it takes.
Another way to support the liver is to eat lighter at night - think soups and salads or chicken or fish with roasted veggies.
You can also use a Milk Thistle supplement to help support liver function.
And don't forget the power of hot lemon water in the morning (it’s safe to drink right after your thyroid medication)!
Eat More Greens
It’s no secret that eating greens and vegetables are good for you.
They contain fiber, antioxidants and phytochemicals that help lower toxicity and inflammation in the body.
You can add microgreens to eggs and avocado toast in the mornings and try to eat more salads for lunch and dinner.
The key (for me) to eating more salads is a good dressing and I recently picked up this one from Whole Foods which I’ve been loving!

Get Out in the Fresh Air
There’s a reason why they say nature heals.
Not only does getting out in nature help to lower inflammation and boost immunity, it also helps us feel better emotionally.
I love getting outside to hear the birds sing and drink my morning coffee.
It’s a little easier for us who live in the country, but if you’re in a city try taking a brief walk in a park or go for a nice weekend hike somewhere nearby.
Move
With the cold and rainy weather recently I haven’t been moving as much as I know I should, so I’ve made it a goal to work out 5 days a week for 30 minutes.
And if I can’t get outside for a stroller walk with my daughter, I’ll jump on our treadmill or do a quick workout after she’s asleep or while she naps.
Not only does movement help digestion and circulation on our bodies, it also releases those good feeling endorphins that help our moods.
Organize
I love the feeling of an organized house, but living with a toddler makes that extremely difficult, so I’ve begun to do a quick 30 minute clean after she goes to sleep.
We clean the kitchen, do the dishes, pick up her play area and reset the living area for the next day.
On the weekends I’ll pick a project - like a closet or dresser to organize. I’m about to do the big Winter to Spring clothes swap. My life can quickly spiral out of control, so I find that staying on top of organizing also keeps me accountable to taking all of my supplements, eating right for Hashimoto’s and committing to my workout routine.
Whichever one you try (or try all of them!) it's sure to give you a quick health refresh.
